Photo Gallery: Laundry Treasures

I thought I would share with you all a few of the items I recently have found while doing laundry. All items were recovered from the clothing of my two oldest children, ages 3 and 5. Introducing, in no particular order, pocket contents:

Colored popsicle sticks

1. These are from a preschool “project” that B didn’t complete in the classroom but insisted he needed to finish said project at home. Early sign of kleptomania?

2. Goodies from an Easter party we attended. But what happened to the two matching barrettes? If I tell S that I found these, tears will be shed for the incomplete set.

3. If only B would put these to practical use and TAKE OUT THE TRASH. But, in all fairness, the trash bag is about the same size as he is.

4. A POKER chip? Really? I have no idea where this came from and can only hope that the obvious dirt-encrusted edges mean that it has been used for digging rather than gambling.

5. Perhaps part of one of S’s “art projects?” There are things like this all over my house. I am just now allowing myself to throw them away. Creative kids=questionable decor.

6. A glass bead, of sorts, from our back yard. When we moved in there was a drowing hazard pond in the yard. Even though J immediately filled it in, we still find these stones at times, especially after a rain storm.

7. Is there a theme emerging here? My kids do like to create art using just about anything that can be glued to just about anything else. But why walk around with a fistful of gluables in one’s pocket? These were from B, and I think he may have been confiscating them from S, as they are some of her favorite materials to glue.

I also found a few pennies, of course, and gum wrappers (thankfully no gum). And the funny thing is that all of these things started out in the pockets of my children and ended up in my own pockets and then on the top of my bureau. Who knows what next awaits me. Maybe it will be something worth sharing.
