Thanksgiving was perfecto! However, it did kinda sorta skew my focus for a few days. It’s taken me longer than I expected to get to this post. It seems I was more concerned about eating pie and keeping toddlers out of trouble than I was about the blog. Phew! That was hard to admit. Especially after Five for Ten. Especially after the influx of comments and blogs we so happily devoured. I will shamelessly say that I spent much more time with my computer than I did with my kids for those ten days. That this blog space was more important than pretty much anything.
Although I was thankful to be able to take a deep breath, I was also a bit sad on Day Ten. But I’m confident that we have built up a fabulous network of like-minded people. And even if my writing during Five for Ten was not always at its best, you still came back. You wrote. You commented. You inspired me to keep going into the wee hours of the night.
And so. Here are the perfect ten for tens. The grand winners of a brand spankin’ new Momalom T-shirt, First Edition.

For those of you who just plumb forgot, or weren’t too concerned with winning a t-shirt and just like to stop by. Well guess what? Tis the season of giving – and giving we are so happy to do. So for the following lovelies, you TOO will get a Momalom T-Shirt.

It was a wonderful experience ladies. Thank you for joining us here. For having faith in us. For coming back.
Jen and I spoke today about the surge of connections that have formed over the past couple of weeks. We are grateful. We are in awe. We are sweetly content with all of the effort we have put into this blog. This cozy nook of the internet world.
I will send you all an email asking for sizes and addresses so that I can get you the t-shirts as soon as they arrive from the printer. If you get to me first, all the better!
And don’t forget…half-drunk challenge is coming up! I will be using MckLinky starting on Sunday, December 6th. Dare yourself to say something you wouldn’t normally say. Something that you want or need to get off your chest. The official post will be up on Sunday with the opportunity to link up your post from the 6th through the 12th. Start turning the wheels of your mind and hone in on a topic…or don’t! Jen told me today that she has an idea of what she will write if only she can get up the courage to do it. Nope, she hasn’t even told ME what it is. I, however, have no clue yet what I’ll write – which is actually even MORE frightening. For all of us, I think! :)

Herky!!!! I won something! Awesome!
I am in serious training (as is my liver) for Half-Drunk December…cannot wait!
One question: You got a topic idea yet or are you gonna wing it?
Ooh, wait. Another question…will you be going with a recipe or no? Possibly pre-filling it in to your post? Or throwing something at us from the top of your head? Something like, perhaps, a recipe for Mimosas on Christmas Morning? Cause, uh, I might forget which two liquids to mix together with all the Santa hype going on round here!
Ok, I think I’m a dork, since I am officially relieved and grateful to be receiving a shirt anyways….BTW, will we be able to put the Half Drunk button up on our sites early?
Yes! On the Half-Drunk button. I will finish it up today and put it up with the code! How’s that for service, girlie? Look for it sometime this afternoon. You can throw it into your sidebar and paste it into your SUPER AWESOME DRUNKEN POST when write and post!
Okay Girlie. Blog Button is up. On the right hand side below my nonsensical tweets. There’s a code. Please let me know if it looks a bit blurry on your site. Still figuring out all this bloggity stuff!
Put it up…and promote the heck outta it. Let’s see how many drunken winners we can get to participate. I guess I should get a post up that it links to directly, huh? Eh. Soonish.
Thank you both so much for this wonderful community!!
I’m looking forward to the challenge!!
Now, where’s my wine…I’ll start early =)
Training could either help or hurt us, I figure. I’m not sure if I should sip a steady stream of cocktails from now through next week, or just wing it and throw back shots of tequila on the night I write until I’ve got something ridiculous enough to say…and daring! :)
I suppose you’re right. No need to build a tolerance…it will just take longer to write it!
:)
I just popped over to see if the 1/2-drunk button was ready. No pressure or anything. Jen: I’ve got one that’s gonna take a lot of courage and a beer or two. I’ll do it if you will.
Okay. Button is up my friend. Display it proudly. And I’ll try to get the challenge description, rules, whathaveyou up today or tomorrow!
Also. Prize ideas? A WTF sweatshirt is looking REALLY good right now! :)
Well I have no clue what I’ll be writing about, 1/4 drunk, 1/2 drunk, or 3/4 drunk. But if I don’t get my blog moved by then, you can bet expletives will not be deleted, and limericks will be involved. YES, uncreatively rhyming with Nantucket.
Can hardly wait for the t-shirt. Will don it proudly, with ALL of my finest footwear.
Am totally going to be winging it for the 1/2 Drunk Challenge. No idea what I’m going to write. But the 1/2 drunk part should be, sadly enough, a breeze.
Thank you both for your inspired 5 for 10 challenge and for so wonderfully incubating a community here. A community that means a lot to me!
Means a lot to me too, Lindsey! Thanks.
I won! I won! I won!
I’ve got topics for Half Drunk, but I don’t really drink so I’m not quite exactly sure how to pull them off. What I mean is, I am such a sad lightweight that a half a glass puts me to sleep so that won’t help. Maybe I’ll buy a bottle and put it on the desk as a reward/motivator…write the post, get to sleep???
I like it, Lynne. Motivator for sleep as the reward. As someone who has not slept through the night for about six years now, I don’t need the motivation. But I get it. Also, I won’t be able to use that stat for much longer as Sarah did the hard work of sleep training my littlest babe last weekend while I was off gallivanting with my sweetie. She now is sleeping THROUGH and I am relearning how.
But that’s hardly daring enough to use for the half-drunk challenge…
I won, too?! Cool!! And I’ve gotten one more Twitter-buddy (Hi Amanda!) AND you’ve inspired me to get back to my blog and actually write something. Maybe I can even keep it up – time will tell! I suppose the Half-Drunk challenge would be an interesting way to keep it going.
Thanks!!
Yay! Write write write. You already have readers! (And, heck, if most of us are half drunk, then it’s a damn easy audience.)
I’m excited about winning, especially because I fervently enter contests/giveaways in hopes of winning but never actually do. :)
I’m thrilled to be a part of such a genuine movement.
Thanks ladies!
XOXO
Maybe the trend is turning in your (winning) favor?! Keep entering!
I’m excited to be a winner (for a change!) HA! I’ll wear my t-shirt proudly!
I’ll be honest. The half-drunk challenge scares me. I have a lot of “real” me stuff I’ve been wanting to say but I’m not sure…we’ll see.
Write only what you’re comfortable being uncomfortable about. OK? My topic is kinda big to me, but I’m worried everyone else will be all like, What’s the big deal?!
Also, Sarah and I love “real.” It’s our thing. Really.
Hey, Jen, My topics are all about “kinda big to me, but…everyone else will be all like, What’s the big deal?” That’s what makes this project so amazing, IMHO. We are willing to witness one another, to hold each other in compassion. We just have to be able to take the risk to hear our own stories and offer ourselves the same compassion.
