Listen Here.
We all spend a heck of a lot of time thinking about our lives, breaking things down into posts, and piecing the words together. We deserve a little more from it all, and Jen and I really want to make that happen. So we have decided to start Five for Ten. If you are just landing here, please take a moment to read yesterday’s post and then come on back.
Rules of the Game.
Eek. I have a great aversion to the word “rules” – except when it comes to my kids, of course – but I suppose we need to be clear about some things. So here goes.
- Come to Momalom 10 days in a row starting on Sunday, Nov. 15, and read whatever words we’ve pieced together for the day. Then leave us a comment. We will do our best to publish in the early a.m. to give everyone a chance to get their comments in.
- You comment, we’ll comment. In the effort to build a larger community, this is the only way to get to know one another. And since you don’t really get to know someone after five minutes, we’re hoping that after roughly an hour with each other (ahem, 10 days of five minutes per day … higher math, I know) some new friendships will be formed.
- If you make it through 10 days of us – through all sorts of moods and topics, to be sure – you will be awarded with A PRIZE. Yes, I said it before and I’ll say it again, Jen and I are designing T-shirts. Who wants to be a lucky wearer of the first stylish printed batch? (I do, I do!)
- If you are late to the game, don’t worry! We still want to hear what you have to say, we still will come see more about you, and you will still be rewarded. Trust me. So … tell your friends and neighbors. We are here to give ourselves away. You can jump in anytime. Quality of comments will certainly be taken into consideration. (Grin, laugh, chuckle – she takes another sip of wine.)
- At the bottom of this post I am placing a little Momalom blog button. It’s my first, so I’d be delighted to see it on your blog, but it is far from a requirement. The only requirement is you.
- If you do not post everyday (or do not even have a blog) do not worry! (Liz, this means you darling.) Jen and I are super conversationalists (Well, either that or we’re full of a lot of hot air and desperate for someone to listen), and we’ll e-mail the hell outta you if you let us. So again, the only requirement is you. Show up here and comment every day for 10 days, and we will respond to you either by e-mail or a visit to your own site.
Does that cover everything? Jen, does that cover everything? (Note: Jen the editor is doing the tweaking tonight. So if you are reading this Jen says, YES, that covers everything.)
Leave us a comment or send us an e-mail if you have any questions.
I have a great aversion to the words contest and giveaway. So let’s just call this a challenge. You give us five minutes and we’ll give you five minutes. Every day. For 10 days. OK? Now, go rest up. Because the time for making more new connections is near.

I definitely don’t need a t-shirt to read and comment. I just enjoy the commentary on mother things and intellectual enlightenment I get from your posts. And the laughter. I do love to laugh.

Oh Ambrosia, Thank you! There is absolutely nothing like waking up to comments like this when I’ve gotten tooooo little sleep and the children are all on one volume: LOUD, and we are knee deep in pear juice and art projects by 8 am.
I’m all kinds of ugh right now. But knowing this Five for Ten thing could actually work makes me brush off the ugh and smile.

I feel the urge to steal your button and let my readers know what you are doing. Hmmmm… later today maybe.

Good thing we are already doing NaBloPoMo or we might feel a little intimidated by all of this! But alas, we are here to BRING IT mama!

Bearing in mind the time difference for the UK… I hope I’m not too late to join in! Am off up to the first post!
Ok, so did I miss Sunday? I think I did. Gosh, where was I Sunday? That was just yesterday. Crap! Crap! Crap. I mean the part about not remembering what the hell I did yesterday that kept me from my Google Reader (ahem,… your blog).
Oh, I got it now. I promised Sarah free Christmas cards because she moved me with how Scary she was and I was all trying to get some shit up on my site to impress her. So I was up will 2 am and I put 2 darn cards up. So Sarah, check out the whole 2 cards I have up and pick one!!!! Just kidding! Really Sarah, I am working on it. I promise. But if you’ve seen something or thought of something I can totally do it up better.
Um, I guess that’s it. I know I’m forgetting something,…like the rules of the game. But fuck it-ah, to say that it feels good. And by the way, I was told by a reader of mine that I need to “get over it” with my cuss words because her children read my blog!!!!!!!!!!
No no no, it’s fine! So glad to have you. Impress me? Oh forget that! Just show up and write. That’s it. That’s all.
About the cursing on your site. You do what’s comfortable for you and that’s all anybody should ever ask of you, right?
Okay. Off to check out your site now. :)

I know I’m late. But something is really wrong with your site or my computer. It comes up like it’s part of a feed with code and shit.
