Yeah. The happy kind. I hear you.

Everyone warned me of getting a dog. Everyone is waiting for me to start bitching about said dog. Alas, all is well so far. And though she will get bigger and her playful biting of my slippers will soon be destructive, I am not as afraid of the work it will take to train her and raise her as I am of the work it takes just to make it through the day with three boys and no ER trips.

I think you’ll be proud of us. Stella-girl has remained in her little cardboard box beside our bed each night since she’s been home. She’s sweet. She’s soft. She’s all puppy. I can see our life this summer: the boys running in the yard with the dog. Shrieks, screams and barking. I love it.

Now if only mean old Mr. Winter would hurry up and pass.

Okay, I will put up a picture of the little pooch. She is a sweetheart and I find myself melting as she sleeps on my chest after the kids go to sleep. Just like a newborn. It’s bliss.

And I’m a sucker for cuddling.

Aw – the best gift ever for a kid. We “got” a puppy one year (it was a stray that my mother couldn’t turn away on Christmas morning) and it’s my favorite Christmas memory yet. Good job guys!

OOOOHHHH!!! Fun! Your home will definitely be filled with excitement and love (and chaos) with your new little addition! Good luck – one piece of advice – CRATE TRAIN. We were softees with our little girl (Bella) and couldn’t take the crying in the crate so we let her sleep “just one night” in our bed. Five years later… guess who still takes up most of the space in our bed? You got it.
