Happy New Year!
I tend to make some resolutions, but never really stick to them. I feel like, somehow, the Blue Moon, the end of the decade, etc. means I need to stick to them this year. Now, I just have to make them!

I have been consumed by this moon, honestly. I’ve mentioned it in conversation and stared at it both before and after work*.
You’re right, it is mystical!

*I work super early in the a.m. and usually get off when it’s dark, being winter and all…

I watched the “clock” turn to 12:00 on my cell phone and then looked up at that moon that had been mezmerizing me all night. I knew it was full, and full of portent… I did not know it was “blue,” but it makes great sense that it was.

Beautiful post Jen. I am so looking forward to 2010 and the entire new decade. Although I know the first decade probably held the best days of my life (my wedding, and the birth of both kids) it also was a very trying decade and year. I welcome the new year with open arms and an open heart. Cheers to you and I so look forward to continuing to spend time here with you!

Funny–I mentioned that it was a blue moon and nobody else in my house knew what that was! So then I hauled their butts out in 9 degree weather to behold that sucker–we won’t have another one until 2023 or something, so behold! And, of course, nobody was as jazzed about it as I was…but so what.

Although I could do without the song in my head: Blue moon/you saw me standing alone/without a dream in my heart/without a love of my own…

Especially when it’s almost 3 in the morning and hubs is snoring like a rhino…
