I have only one ovary (and one fallopian tube)
All of my other internal organs are in tact (as far as I know)
My lips are not my own (but once they were)
My heart has been broken (and is stronger for it)
I have never broken a bone (but I have seen Sarah’s arm in a cast)
My skin is finicky and dry and cracked (so I apply lotion many times every day)
My hair turned grey after my dad died (in a stripe down the center of my head)
I have lines around my eyes (that I just noticed last Friday)
And around my doughy middle (that I’m not fond of at all)
And without blinking my (hazel) eyes
I would again jump into this body with both feet (even though my left foot is distinctly larger than my right)
This post is in response to the Sugar Doll award, bestowed upon us by our good friend Teresa, whose Ten Things she entered in our recent challenge. The circle goes round and round. And we wouldn’t want it any other way.

Too funny! I didn’t break my first bone until I was 31!!
Okay, whaddafuck happened to your lips?!??
And I, your sister in the doughy-middle department, applaud you for cherishing every quirk.
um yeah i want to know what this lip stuff is too!
It is a courageous woman who embraces her own body, quirks, flaws and all. Love the list! (and dying to know about the lips too!)
Very mysterious list… and cool!
Hope you are enjoying your holiday!
I love the stories that our bodies tell about us, even though what we see and what the world sees is not always what is really there.
And I love that your left foot is bigger than your right. Mine too! I’ve often dreamed of finding a woman with the opposite problem so we could share mismatched pairs of size 9 & 9.5 shoes.
Oh, bummer. If your right foot were bigger we could definitely share shoes. Now THAT would be a fun blogging connection. A shoe buddy.
I love this post. There’s something so inspiring about someone taking a hard but loving look at herself.
Comfort in my own body is something I am working hard on. It is so hard after feeling that your body isn’t quite “yours” anymore once you have kids.
Great post
HEY, I, too, also have only one ovary and one fallopian tube….so there you go…such tidbits we bond over in the blogging world…
Hey lopsided friend! Another reason it’s good to know you. :)
i have two testicles. but that hardly seems appropriate. still, i like to insert testosterone into your site from time to time for three reasons…
number one, i enjoy stopping by and reading.
number two, my gender is not well represented.
number three, last time i was hear, i read an anonymous post about a penis. so there was that.
Merry Christmas! here’s to santa bringing you a nice comfy pair of slippers (size 9/8, of course…) jco

Hope you all find divine (and well-lit) objects in your stockings!
