Wow. I was just saying this to someone the other day — that we’ll look back and see that the most extraordinary days are the ordinary ones. But she is an amazing writer and captured the feeling so well. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for sharing this beautful reminder…We are always so busy trying to get over th next hurdle, that we forget it will be over all too soon…Hope you are have an “ordinary” Monday…Come by and visit…
I’m am blinking back the tears as I write this. What a beautiful sentiment. And it is encouraging me to keep doing what I’m doing. My mother-in-law was just here for a visit and she feels I should work outside the home, that I spend too much time with/for my kids. She asked me what I’m going to do when they go off to college. I told her, “I’m going to cherish the memories I’m making today.”
I told her, “I’m going to cherish the memories I’m making today.”
This is wonderful, Jane. This video–and these words of yours–have given me goose bumps all throughout the day. I hope to remember to come back and watch it from time to time. It is just so extraordinary.
Wow. She speaks a universal language all mothers understand. Simply beautiful and an excellent reminder for all of us that when it comes to loving our children, we make no distinction between ordinary and extraordinary moments. Glad I finally had a moment to click over from twitter and comment. Thank you.
I loved this book, and I loved this clip that Kenison did (I am on her mailing list, and she sent it out awhile back). I definitely give it a two thumbs up!
This has been ‘one of those weeks’ where all we do is clean up after the wirlwind that is three boys, pester about homework and brushing teeth and flushing the GD toilet, and CLEAN UP THOSE LEGOS… and to say I needed a little jolt outside of my own head would be accurate. This is great, and powerful and a wonderful reminder that, no matter how hard this stage is, 1) it does not last forever and in all likelihood 2) the next stage is harder, so enjoy what you have while you have it.
This video comes on a rough day yet I thank you for sharing. Were it not for the tears in my eyes and the lump in my throat, I’d have something more profound to say, I’m sure. Until that time, I say, simply, thank you.

I love this. Watched it a few weeks ago, cried my eyes out, and bought her book immediately. It’s next on my stack.
Thank you for posting it.
Wonderful! Boo-hoo!

I’m just as exhausted by my life, and just as touched by this video.
