Happy Birthday, Shaggy! Shall We Plan a Camping Trip?

P.S. Geez, was I a TOTALLY lousy big sister? Not letting you in the tent? Geez.

P.P.S. Or, wait, no. I remember. You were a pesky little sister, right?

P.P.P.S. Good thing none of it matters now.

Me? Pesky? Oh. pshaw, big sister!

Love you lots. And forever.
And so glad that none of it matters now.
None of it.
My life is brighter with you in it.

Happy Birthday, Shag-a-licious!

I love these old correspondences you have–they make me smile and feel all warm and goopy inside and stuff. They also are very funny!

Happy birthday, Sarah (er, Shaggy)! Love these little treasures from your childhood. Isn’t it lovely how youth’s trivialities fade over time? Hope you both have a great, and sisterly, day!

Sarah, I’m really glad you were born! :)

And this note is hilarious, of course. On Muppet paper-makes it even better.

Totally glad I was born. And at a time when the Muppets ruled the kid world. Caillou and Kailan just don’t do it for me the way that Grover did, ya know?

Happy Birthday, yo!

And these notes make me want to go out and purchase little notepads for my girls and offer to take dictation so they’ll have things like this when they get older and love each other.

Which they’d better.

Kermit couldn’t have said it any better … It ain’t easy being green (with envy) over a tent-filled birthday. => Glad that fete turned out great and hope today’s does, too. Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday, Sarah! And thanks, Jen, for sharing this heartwarming/heartbreaking blast from the Momalom past.

(Did that Muppet paper make an appearance in a former post? Or maybe I had the same stationery as a kid…I wish!)

first of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

second, where do i send my letter asking to be allowed in the tent for the party? are we supposed to send in proposals as to why we are tent-worthy? because i am willing to go the distance. i can whip up a pretty nice proposal for someone who has no idea what she is doing. i may or may not be able to get my paws on super cool 80′s children’s characters letterhead, but dammit, i will do my best.

also, will there be s’mores?

What’s a night in a tent without s’mores? Really!

And you can forward all proposals to Jen. Clearly she’s the OLDER sister–

My big sister would not hold my hand while crossing busy streets when I was little b/c she was afraid someone from her school would see her and she wouldn’t look cool. I like her now, though!
