Almost every day is laundry day. Especially in the summer time, because we hang all of our laundry to dry. So today, I put out a load of towels before we went on a few errands. (Farmer’s Market; Trader Joes.) When we returned, a few hours later, the sun was shining and the towels were dry. I went upstairs to put the littlest one down for her nap, and when I came downstairs the skies were gray and rain was pouring down. Question: Do I rewash the towels or just let them (re)dry and pretend the brief rainstorm never happened at all?
P.S. See that wheelbarrow full of pulled weeds? Evidence that not only did I get laundry on the line today and run errands with all three kids, but I completely weeded one of our two modest garden plots of veggies. Ah, accomplishments. (Thus the writing, as it were.)
P.P.S. Thanks to Sarah, I am now the owner of an iPhone. Being the low-tech gal that I am (compared to Sarah, anyway), this is news. And the camera feature is, so far, my favorite. You’ll notice that I’m not much of a photographer, but I’ll happily hand that title over to Sarah, too.

I wouldn’t trust me to give sound advice on this one, I’m too lazy. I’d definitely just leave them to dry again. You know, unless you’re prone to acid rain where you live or something… =P
Busy day!!
Let them dry again! A little bit of rain never hurt anyone! LOL!
Unless you live in a dirty city like me, enjoy the extra rinse.
Don’t you dare rewash those towels! Also, ADORABLE!
Glad you got on the i-phone train. I simply love mine. The camera function is so handy.
Yep, I’d just let them dry again. Kudos to you for line drying! It’s so hot and muggy here, we don’t step aside during the day unless we have to. And the mosquitos keep us in at dawn and dusk.
Your wheelbarrow full of green stuff looks so rustic and cute!
What a pretty backyard, Jen. And lucky you on the vegetables. I’ve had quite a pathetic summer trying to keep my fledgling garden alive in 115 degrees. Guess what? The sun won and my veggies lost.
Since Arizona is famously dusty and our rain – if and when it ever shows up – is just enough to get things dirtier than they were, not to wash things clean again, so I’d have to wash again. If you actually live in a regular human-type place and not in a place that looks like the surface of the moon like me, then you wouldn’t need to, right? :)
TELL me you didn’t wash the towels again? Especially after accomplishing laundry, errands and weeding the garden? You’re making us look bad!
Congrats on your new toy!
Rainstorm, what rainstorm?!
The laundry. never. ends. I say, no extra work – call it the extra rinse cycle.
I’m impressed at your productivity. Inspirational, as I sit here in my pjs reading blogs…
I hate to tell you this, but that laundry thing? Unending. In preparation for my son arriving home last night, I did multiple loads. Even though they learn to do their own, kids seem to have an aversion to it. What’s up with that?
I’m grateful my younger one likes to cook. Custom omelets. Works for me! :)
The rain is like the final rinse cycle. Leave it. Perfect.
I think you all will be happy to know that I did not rewash the towels. And the wheelbarrow hasn’t budged. Summer wins.
Yea, I’d rewash them. I would just feel dirty every time I used one is those towels. And not in a good way.
I’m late on the bandwagon and I see you didn’t bother to rewash. Good! Let me tell you, I use my line all summer long and I never re-rinse. EVER. If it gets wet, it stays there until it’s dry again in hopes that I get a chance to take them off this time around.
And an iPhone love. That’s one rockin’ sister you have. :-)
Isn’t rain good for your hair? Or is that just an old wives tale?
I say, let em hang! No need to dry again – they’re towels! They’re just going to get wet again when you use em.
I line dry too, or at least I did until my yard turned into a construction site last year. Yay for summer winning. Rain is water = clean. Or sort of anyway, at least it’s not funky old body smell.
Your garden is lovely. And WhooT!! for Sarah for passing on the iPhone which you will now never be able to live without. At first I loved it, but now I wonder how different in a good way my life could be without being so connected. Of course, I’ll never know, I’m far too addicted.
Uh, okay, um, Jen? Laundry drying outside? A wheelbarrow? Holy cow. I am impressed.
So, a question about the line-drying thing … How do you keep things from becoming crinkly? Or do you just get used to the crinkle?
Glad to read that you did not rewash those towels!
Agree on the iPhone camera too – that’s all I got and it’s got to be good enough!
I am glad we don’t have the option of line drying where we live, although I miss have crisp, sun dried bed sheets…Alas, it would lose it’s charm very quickly if it was something I had to do…
I can’t wait to get my vegetable garden going again…there is something about growing your own that makes them taste better, no?
