Love Fest

Three years ago we hosted a love letter link-up. It’s time for a reprise, don’t you think?

 Here’s how it works:

  • Write a love letter on or before Valentine’s Day (Thursday, Feb. 14).
  • You can write to anyone—or anything, for that matter. (I once found it helpful to write a love letter to a small appliance.) (Full disclosure: The appliance has since moved on to the great wasteland and has been replaced by a bigger, better model.) (This is not a metaphor for anything. Just the facts.)
  • Link to it here (or e-mail it to us if you don’t have a blog (or want to be anonymous), and we will find a home for it).
  • Add the blog button (look! over there! to the left!) to your own blog if you’d like to inspire some of your own readers.

We will reward a winner with some Valentine’s Day appropriate treats.

There are no other rules. You don’t even have to send the letter (but we hope you do). Just spend some time writing about love. Then share it with us. (It would be nice if you’d read and comment on other linked posts. You know, spread the love?) (But this isn’t one of those crazy Five for Five linkups where Sarah and I go traipsing around the Internet for days on end reading all of your great writing and getting inspired. Maybe another time. For now, we just want to Love It Up.)

For inspiration, I share with you a love letter, of sorts. Written to me from Sarah approximately 30 years ago. (My apologies to those of you who’ve seen this already. It really is a treasure, though. And worth sharing again.)

This brings back memories! If you recall, I was the winner of the last “Love It Up Challenge,” and wrote a love letter to my unborn baby — who is now almost two and a half! — as a means of announcing my pregnancy. That feels like a lifetime ago. I’d love to participate again. No pregnancies to announce this time, though :)

Of COURSE I remember you won. I almost looked to see if your winning post was still live somewhere. :) So glad you’re in it again!

I don’t know if I can top that Muppets Love Letter, but I may have to try this month. With temperatures low, low, low I may have to snuggle up by a fire, blow on my fingertips a bit, and tap into the words within. Love it Up. One of our best moments online, methinks. :)

I thinkdraft up a love letter. Sounds technical doesn’t it? Love letters are supposed to be less technical. ha!

Technical or not, we’d love to read it!

I’m so totally in! Did you know that the first 5 for 10 was the thing that made me fall in love with blogging lo those 3 1/2 years ago?

Oh, you Momalom sisters, I care for you. I want to kiss and hug if you will let me.

Hug fest? Sounds perfect. I love that our community, the one formed first during 5 for 10, is still here, there and everywhere. So often now, when I’m reading through comments on Facebook or a blog post, I see our Momalom community members there. It’s amazing to me. Every single time. Hug. Kiss. Repeat.
